Tag Archives: Craft Your Passion Challenges

This week on Craft Your Passion we were asked to use scraps. I didn’t really go all the way with this challenge. I mean, with scraps, the possibilities are really endless but in my card I only used two different papers and a piece of washi.

Then the doodling didn’t come out as I wanted. The extra bump after the letter “i” is there because I forgot what I was writing and just kept going. I also briefly thought about adding paint splatters which is totally something I should have done.

Only things I’m happy about this card are the papers and colours that I used. I definitely could have done a better job if I had put more thought on it during the making process. Oh well, it’s a lesson learned. Join this week’s challenge “Use Your Scraps” and you can win one of the fabulous prizes from Stitchy Bear and Robin’s Nest.

Till next time!

Clean And Simple

I haven’t made a CAS-card since…well, I believe it was last year when I made a baby card! Now that said baby is 1-years old! This week’s challenge was a nice reminder how much fun making CAS-cards can be. We got to use stamps by Bugaboo and I chose the Candy Jar. Naturally.

As if you lot don’t think that candy is the best part of Christmas…

Really! It is! And presents of course but that goes without saying…

Truly, let the candy season begin! To take part in this week’s Craft Your Passion challenge click HERE and I’m also linking this card to these challenges:

Save The Hooters!

October in US is a Breast Cancer Awareness Month so this week it’s pink week at Craft Your Passion. We got to choose from two different sets of digi stamps and I went with owls. Because. You know. They are owls.  Since my background was very full on pink, I decided to leave my owl b&w, just adding blue eyes raised with foam dots.

Yes. I think the eyes are my favourite part. If you want to see more fab DT-cards, click HERE. Don’t forget to take part yourself as this week’s prizes include 5 Promarkers! I wouldn’t mind winning those…

Till next time! Oh, and if you are on Facebook, you can like Thrifty Finn too…

It’s Bingo Time!

Another week, another challenge! I’m one day late posting my DT-sample but I had an interview today I had to prep for so I couldn’t post yesterday. But anyhoo…This week we are doing bingo! I chose the line flowers, distress and buttons.

This week I used an image by The Paper Shelter. I coloured it to be super perky. It’s going to go to my god-daughter, who actually owns glasses like these:

Flowers are in the yellow paper, distressing is on the edges on the two background papers and buttons…Well, they are not so hard to find! Personally I’m loving the colours in this card.

Another angle. Now go on and make your own card! This week’s prizes are 20 dollar gift certificates to Simon Says Stamp and The Paper Shelter. There’s two prizes, which means two chances to win! Now I kind of wish I could join.

Well, I’m off to finish a posting which is going to include a freebie! Yes, that’s right. A freebie!

Power Of Three

This week, Craft Your Passion, asked us to create something with triples of things. In my card I had multiple of things in threes. 3 black diamonds, 3 clear ones, 3 layers of paper, 3 shades of grey (heehee) and 3 ways to finish edges; faux stitching, real stitching and doodle framing.

I’m such a multi-faceted crafter with many, many layers of deepiness, deep inside me.

I know, I know. It’s very unattractive to laugh at one’s own joke. But I’m still doing it.

Anyhoo, I used this image by our sponsor, Crafty Sentiments Designs because it reminds me of one of my cousins, Siiri. She’s 8 and she is so sweet and adorable like you wouldn’t believe. Since I’m going to send this one to her, I tried to capture her personality in the card as many ways as possible.

First of all, I coloured the girl blond and gave her blue eyes just as Siiri. Last summer she was a flower girl at her aunt’s wedding and wore a dress just like that, so that colour came from there. The flowers are coloured to give an impression of Finnish summer, which means no exotic colours.

As for the background…I wanted to emphasize how Siiri and personality always brighten up everyone’s mood, she really is a ray of sunshine, so I decided to go with monochromatic papers. To give the stamped image even more of a pop, I lifted it with foam from the background. The stitching, faux and real, also gives another dimension to this card. Almost as if the image in the center is fabric badge of honour on someone’s grey, floral sleeve.

Oh, I’m such an artist. A poet.

The diamonds in the corners are there because A. they are girl’s best friend and B. Siiri wants to be a pop star when she grows up and naturally pop stars wear diamonds.

Hope you enjoyed my rambling. Now go and craft and take part in Craft Your Passion Challenge. There are prizes for three this week!

Till next time!
