After I shot the pictures for Amalia’s box tutorial, I came home with the thought I must make some. But for what? My craft supplies are again in a massive chaos. The behavioral pattern I seem to follow is: organize, craft, don’t clean up after myself, craft some more, move stuff around, craft and there I am. Sitting in my flat wondering where did all the space go. Okay, I’m not saying that one tiny drawer will solve this but it sure does look pretty!
First I used my brown paper bags to create those larger compartments. Nothing too complicated in that, just trim some of the top and then roll down the edge 2 or 3 times and presto: You have a french market look going on.
The boxes are folded from used envelopes, folder dividers and paper bags. I didn’t have any plan in place as for as how many I should do. I kept making them and re-arranging till I had them all fitted together snuggly. Trust me, you don’t want these babies to move around every time you open the drawer.
I’m so pleased with this. I keep going back to have a look several times a day. Can’t help it. There’s something very visually pleasing in buttons in order. Don’t you agree?
