Discovering Google+

I finally did it and updated my Google+ profile. It seems that more and more crafty people are transferring there from Facebook and I decided to follow. Can I be classified now an early adapter?

What have I done with Google+ so far? Not much. Added a header and a picture of myself, linked one blog post, followed few people and joined couple of circles. But that’s not the point. I think + is much better social networking site for crafty/design/artsy people than Facebook. The layout is nice and clean so your photos really pop out and don’t get drowned in the clutter.

This is my album page. As you can see not much in there yet but the cover photos are nice and large and when you hover your mouse over the album cover, the album spreads a little to show a sneak peek of the photos in it.

What am I looking to achieve with Google+? More interaction with fellow bloggers and crafters and hopefully some time in the future having crafty hangouts with people all over the globe. How about participating in an origami workshop taught by someone who is actually in Japan??? That would be all kinds of awesome.

So here’s my quick intro to Google+. I’m looking forward to exploring it and hopefully finding more crafters to follow. If you want to follow Thrifty Finn, there’s a link on my side bar. The gigantic yellow G is kind of hard to miss :D

Do you have a Google+ profile? Have you found it useful or are you still in your baby shoes so to speak?
