Etsy Shopping

I didn’t know I could get my scrapbook paper fix on Etsy until few weeks back when I found a kit I have been looking for ages. Etsy- seller Paper Issue came to my rescue and I finally received my purchase today!!! I heartily recommend her as her pricing and postage are reasonable AND she wraps things very nicely. And no, I haven’t been paid to say those things. Anyway, now that I have the kit, I can do a couple of mini albums I’ve been planning for quite some time.

This is the first time I’ve bought a kit and I think it won’t be the last. I’ve been fondling (the correct word in this context really IS correct) the papers and extras today a lot.

The bike! The bike is killing me with its cuteness! I used to live in Holland after all, so maybe I’m feeling just slightly nostalgic.

The picture doesn’t show it but the shade of blue is fantastic. Very deep, yet vintage-y. I’m in colour heaven right now…

As an icing on the cake, the seller added these extras because she had a delay with the posting and let me tell you, I take the delay for extras anytime! Since I don’t have that many embellishments or journaling thingies to begin with, these go a long way in starting a stash. If you’re interested in buying from Paper Issues, she is offering now a discount of 20% with a code LOVE20.

Greetings from Thrifty “in a paper induced frenzy” Finn.

P.S. I just did the spell check and this text is filled with tons of grammar alerts! I just can’t figure out the correct way of saying the things. Aaaargh! Maybe I should go to England for few weeks just to re-learn some proper English.

Thrifty Sales

I think I’ve mentioned once or twice how messy and cluttered my place is. I have mountains of fabrics and other crafty stuff everywhere. Since I’m now member of TWO Facebook “Let’s Get Rid of Our Retro/Old Stuff”, I decided to try my hand at selling some of my goodies there.

First on my list is that doll face. I bought it with the plan to use it on a notebook cover but the fact is it creeps me out. Luckily, there’s one girl in one of the groups that collects these.

Second is this table runner. I bought it two years ago just because I love the print. I really should have sold this long time ago because a. I already have a picture of it for future reference and b. someone can make something cute and cool with it.

Tiny cushion I’ve used as Halloween decoration because the colouring. I call this Mr. and Mrs. Benz On a Sunday Drive. Hey, that name is so cool I can double the prize. No, not really. But really.

Vintage duvet cover. I’ve had this in my stash couple of years now and even though in general I’m fan of bright colours but I just haven’t been motivated to make anything with this fabric. So onto a new home it is. This would be adorable if quilted and made into a picnic blanket.

So I’ve taken the pics but I still have to take measurements, write the descriptions and come up with prices that will bring in some money but guarantees a sale.

So that’s my plan for tomorrow. Tonight (it’s 1:30 AM in Finland right now) was a game night. I got to play board games, eat mud pie, ice cream, chips and have a laugh. A perfect Saturday night in my book.

Etsy Photoshoot

Yesterday was fun. My friend Niko came over and we spent two hours taking pictures of my Maxi- grocery bags for Etsy. I have butt load of pictures to edit but so far I’ve done only a few. Reason of procrastinating: Farmville. Yes! I’m guilty as charged! I play Farmville and I love it!

Anywayzzz…Niko came over (I had to bribe him with promise of pancakes later) and we did a quick tour In Da Hood for good photo locations. In the end we decided climb on top of a nearby (nearby meaning right next to our building) rock formation and I think the pics turned out great. Well, not necessary the ones I’m showing you but some of them. At least.

So there we were. Feeling cold and consequently sorry of ourselves. Somehow we ended up fighting over who is the stylist and who is the photographer and in the end we came into a solution. The one bossed other one around first got to shoot the picture.

In this case Niko lost.

Of course I had to go and fix his set up. Sheesh, assistants these days…

Not long after this, I started taking pics of the second set of bags. I found a good spot for me and my camera and began firing away. Few seconds later I realized I had backed into a lone some rose-bush stem…The stem which now stood between my thighs. And had gotten stuck in my panty hose…The Pain!

Niko thought it was funny.

I didn’t.

Later Niko “redeemed” himself by pushing this half-rodent-eaten apple way too close to my face. Ignoring the fact it probably was a rabies infestent, it did smell nice. Rabies nice.
